HAPPY THURSDAY TO THE STREET

Five days until Election Day, and the market is on the ballot.

Data centers became a bipartisan punching bag this week. California’s billionaire tax tallies votes. And whichever way Congress tips, someone on Wall Street will have a chart showing it was obvious all along.

So we’re skipping the cable news panel. Instead, Kyle DePaolo and Dane May of DM Strategic Wealth are joining us live to discuss the election this coming Monday, Nov 2, at 2:30 PM ET.

These expert RIAs will cover how markets have actually behaved around past midterms, what the different outcomes could mean, and how to keep your portfolio from trading on headlines.

Seats are 100% free, but not unlimited. We’re capping sign-ups at 30, so if you’re interested in an in-depth conversation with some of the brightest minds on the market, act now. Reserve your spot here.

Alphabet just had its worst post-earnings drop since going public in 2004.

Search revenue grew 12% to roughly $63B, missing estimates for a second straight quarter even as queries hit a five-year high.

Add negative free cash flow of $9B, about triple the expected shortfall, and investors see AI finally biting into the core business.

But with all that in mind, BofA isn’t blinking: GOOGL, the bank says, is a Buy.

The Overview Effect

BofA estimates search growth excluding currency slowed 3 points last quarter, partly on tougher comps.

The traffic shift to AI Overviews was a small headwind, likely bigger overseas where ad loads are just ramping.

Tough comps run through Q2 2027, which could make Alphabet a second-half 2027 story, per the bank.

But international Overview ads launch this quarter, models are improving, and Overview ads are already performing.

Wait for It

That mix could spark a growth uptick as early as Q1, BofA argues.

Not everyone is that patient. Citizens Financial Group (CFG) downgraded the stock to Market Perform, while UBS (UBS) and BMO (BMO) trimmed targets.

Today’s drop brought shares nearly 10% into the red YTD. But BofA is betting the search party starts sooner than the Street thinks.
