HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO THE STREET

SpaceX (SPCX) more than doubled its quarterly revenue last quarter, and that wasn’t even the biggest headline from its report.

CEO Elon Musk said that merging the space company and Tesla (TSLA) is a good idea, and both boards have formed special committees to explore it. The blowout quarter lifted Rocket Lab (RKLB) and Firefly Aerospace (FLY) too — not to mention expectations for Tesla and fellow Mag 7 titan Meta Platforms (META), both of which report after the bell today.

Musk likened the talk to tap dancing through a minefield. Longtime Tesla shareholders would just call it your average earnings week.

  • 🟩 | US stocks rose today, buoyed by the aforementioned blockbuster earnings and renewed tech strength.

  • 📈 | One Notable Gainer: Bloom Energy (BE) jumped as traders piled in ahead of its Q3 report due tomorrow.

  • 📉 | One Notable Decliner: Alphabet (GOOGL) slipped after OpenAI made its models available on Google's cloud.

Fresh Off the Spin Cycle

Every gold rush needs shovels.

Barron's thinks one of AI's best is Qnity Electronics, a year-old DuPont (DD) spinoff that sells chipmakers polishing pads, photolithography materials, and heat-management gear.

More Layers, More Money

The pitch is valuation. Qnity trades at about 24x forward earnings, while rival Entegris (ENTG) fetches roughly 33x on similar growth expectations. Barron's thinks closer to 30x is fair. Translation: the shovels are on sale.

Chips keep getting smaller, denser, and stacked higher. More complexity means more Qnity business per chip, pointing to above-average sales growth for years.

The early returns seem to support this thesis. Qnity has beaten sales and earnings estimates in all three quarters as a stand-alone company, each with at least 33% EPS growth. Analysts keep raising the bar, and Qnity keeps clearing it.

Wall Street Misses Its Q

So why the discount? Fermium Research's Frank Mitsch blames neglect. Just 10 analysts cover the stock, versus an S&P 500 average of 25.

The ones who do are bullish. Mitsch sees $175 a share, while RBC Capital Markets (RY) analyst Arun Viswanathan targets $189 on Qnity's advanced-node exposure. Shares still sit below their July peak.

Only a handful of analysts are currently on the case. How long before the rest of the Street takes its cue?
