HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO THE STREET

Once valued at $4B, shoemaker Allbirds (BIRD) sold its intellectual property for $39M last month and shuttered its US stores. So naturally, today, its stock is up—*checks notes*—650%?!

The massive surge comes as the firm announced a shocking pivot to AI compute infrastructure, rebranding as NewBird AI and raising up to $50M to buy high-performance hardware.

Let’s just hope its AI solutions aren’t as milquetoast as its shoes.

Stock Spotlight

  • Stock: Cloudflare (NET)

  • Firm: Piper Sandler (PIPR)

  • Current Price: $190

  • Price Target: $222

  • Implied Upside: 17%

Fair Entry

After watching Cloudflare get cheaper all year, Piper Sandler has finally decided to buy the dip.

Analyst James Fish upgraded the stock to Overweight, arguing the 2026 pullback has created the entry window his firm had been waiting for.

The firm has long viewed Cloudflare as a top long-term infrastructure story, but a good price was never easy to come by.

Edge Case

Fish's thesis centers on demand for the cloud computing services that AI buildout will require: network-as-a-service, secure access service edge, and infrastructure-as-a-service.

These offerings position Cloudflare to capture enterprise spending from customers looking for reliable, lower-cost alternatives to hyperscalers.

The company holds a working relationship with OpenAI. And it’s described as a core back-end provider for Anthropic, giving it an early advantage in AI client acquisition that most peers cannot claim.

Net Positive

Of the 36 analysts covering the stock, 25 rate it a Buy or Strong Buy, with nine at Hold. The average price target sits meaningfully above where shares currently trade.

Shares are in the red in 2026, caught in a software selloff driven by fears that AI could upend the sector. Fish's counterargument: in a world running on AI, the infrastructure carrying it will do just fine.
