HAPPY TUESDAY TO THE STREET
The Sohn Investment Conference, where elite hedge funders pitch their highest-conviction stock ideas to a room of Wall Street's biggest names, kicked off today at Lincoln Center.
AI wasn’t just the pitch… it gave the pitch. Former Coatue investor Rahul Kishore let his AI agent Eve open his bullish Axon (AXON) pitch onstage, where "she" immediately requested better air conditioning in her data center.
Another notable call was a short on DaVita (DVA). The bear thesis: GLP-1s will shrink its dialysis pipeline. AI agents handled the intros, but stock-picking still belongs to the humans.
🟨 | US stocks slid from record highs today after April’s inflation rate came in at a three-year high. The DJIA, however, ticked higher.
📈 | One Notable Gainer: Wendy's (WEN), yesterday's Top Decliner, reversed sharply higher on a Financial Times report that Nelson Peltz's Trian Fund Management is raising funds to take the chain private.
📉 | One Notable Decliner: GitLab (GTLB) plunged after CEO Bill Staples outlined a broad restructuring tied to the company's agentic AI pivot.

WILL ELON WIN HIS CASE AGAINST OPENAI?
We've watched this poll bounce around a lot in recent weeks, but today brought its spiciest testimony yet. Sam Altman told the jury that Elon Musk allegedly wanted "total control" of OpenAI passed to his children when he died, a moment Altman called "particularly hair-raising." Kalshi traders are repricing in real time, because nothing moves odds like a courtroom exchange straight out of Succession.

Citi's Fresh Coat
Citi just put a fresh coat on Lowe's.
Analyst Steven Zaccone upgraded the home improvement giant to Buy ahead of its Q1 earnings report on May 20.
He expects Lowe's to beat Street estimates and keep outperforming peers through 2026, even as macro risks tied to the Iran war keep the broader backdrop choppy.
Aisle of Recovery
Zaccone's thesis hinges on the home improvement industry having already bottomed.
Lowe's has posted four straight quarters of positive same-store sales in the US, and outperformed Home Depot (HD) on the same metric for three straight quarters, per the analyst.
With the broader market still forecast to grow at a 4.1% CAGR through 2035, Zaccone sees Lowe's as a direct play on a DIY-led recovery.
Stocked With Buys
The bullish view tracks with the Street. Of the 37 analysts covering Lowe's, 22 rate it a Buy or Strong Buy.
Shares are in the red year to date, weighed down by consumer sentiment hitting record lows. But Citi thinks now is the time for investors to buy LOW.

Sponsored by Greenland Energy Company (GLND)
Almost never.
Greenland Energy Company (NASDAQ: GLND) just rang the Nasdaq opening bell with a singular asset: rights to earn up to a 70% working interest across the entire Jameson Land Basin — over 2 million onshore acres, largely undrilled, with 58 prospects and leads identified by independent engineers (Sproule ERCE).
Independent analysis points to potential upside of approximately 13 billion barrels of recoverable oil, subject to drilling results. The first two exploration drills are targeted for H2 2026, with Halliburton and Stampede Drilling already contracted.
Frontier exploration carries risk. It also carries the kind of asymmetric upside that disappears the moment a basin is proven.
GLND is investable today. The drill bit turns next year.
