HAPPY WEDNESDAY TO THE STREET

SpaceX (SPCX) filed its first quarterly report since June's IPO, and one line did all the damage: $18.37B in capital expenditures, up a whopping 550% from a year ago. Revenue topped estimates at $7.81B, but the stock dropped nearly 15% anyway.

Explaining rocket science to public shareholders is, indeed, rocket science.

  • 🟨 | US stocks were mixed today, a breather from the recent rally, as oil prices stabilized and high-profile earnings continued to roll in.

  • 📈 | One Notable Gainer: Shopify (SHOP) surged on third-quarter revenue guidance well above consensus.

  • 📉 | One Notable Decliner: Pinterest (PINS) slumped on lackluster forward guidance.

WILL PIRRO LEAVE THE TRUMP ADMIN?

Jeanine Pirro spent a year and a half as President Trump's most reliable prosecutor, right up until her office told a court the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was wrecked by shoddy contracting, not vandals.

Trump’s take: she folded like an umbrella.

Kalshi’s take: it’s a matter of time before the White House turns into a revival of The Apprentice.

Market Movers

UBER, FLUTTER, WYNN

📉 | Uber Technologies (UBER) dropped hard on third-quarter bookings and earnings guidance that missed.

📉 | Flutter Entertainment (FLUT) slid double-digits after CEO Peter Jackson's exit.

📈 | Wynn Resorts (WYNN) jumped on a second-quarter beat on both lines.

📉 | Insulet (PODD) cratered after cutting its 2026 US Omnipod growth forecast.

📉 | DaVita (DVA) tanked on full-year earnings guidance that straddled the consensus call.

Picks And Shovels

Forget picking a GLP-1 winner. Analyst Harvey Stober's case for West Pharmaceutical Services is that it’s a pick-and-shovel that gets paid either way.

The firm supplies the stoppers, seals, and syringe systems that every injectable dose requires. GLP-1 therapies drove 18% of net sales last quarter. Biologics drove another 43%.

Annex Appeal

The moat, per the analyst, is regulatory. Once a drug wins approval with West's components inside, switching suppliers means two to three years of revalidation for no functional gain, so West typically stays sole supplier for the life of the therapy.

Europe's Annex 1 sterility standards are widening that lead, Stober notes, with roughly 800 conversion projects in hand, up about 50% from a year ago, and only 15% of a 6B-component market converted so far.

Paying Up

None of this is a secret. West trades near 44x earnings, in line with its life sciences peers, and the stock has outrun the market over the past year. Adjusted EPS still jumped 29% last quarter and guidance was raised for the second time in 2026.

However, of the 19 analysts covering the stock, 18 still rate it a Buy or Strong Buy. Wall Street is in agreement: the sun has yet to set on the WST.
