HAPPY FRIDAY TO THE STREET
The FCC just banned foreign-made robot vacuums… which is to say every one of them.
The millions of robovacs already mapping American floors get to stay, but new rivals are locked out, and the only model assembled here jumps to $1,450 next month.
Sheesh. Talk about a clean sweep.

GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN ON OCT 1?
Senate Republicans and Democrats are close to a deal to fund the government through Dec 4, which would take an October shutdown off the table before the election. The holdup is a proposed White House rule letting political appointees decide which grants actually get paid.
Congress is currently negotiating over who controls money Congress already appropriated. Bettors are calculating the odds accordingly.

Century Of Selling
Publicis Groupe has been selling ads since radio was the disruptive technology. But apparently, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
Barron's argues the French ad group has adapted to the AI era faster than its peers, and that the stock is still priced like it hasn't.
Data Over Drama
AI-powered marketing services now account for 87% of second-quarter net revenue of €3.8B, and that business grew 6.5% year over year, ahead of its six-year growth rate.
The Connected Media division grew in every region. Management raised revenue guidance in July, and the $2.2B purchase of LiveRamp (RAMP) should widen the data lead once it closes.
Cheap At The Price
Shares trade at 11x forward earnings with a 4% dividend yield and a 10.9% free-cash-flow yield. Client retention sits at essentially 100%, and six major new accounts landed in the first half.
Barron’s flags consulting rivals like Accenture (ACN) as the real threat to that streak. But for now, the cheapest AI stock on the board may well be a 100-year-old ad agency.

🛢️ Exxon Mobil (XOM) doubled Q2 profit to $14.53B and Chevron (CVX) nearly quadrupled its to $12.07B, reviving windfall-tax bills in Congress.
🏥 KKR (KKR) is near a deal to take medical-device maker Integer Holdings (ITGR) private at roughly $127 a share.
💸 Amazon collected $600M in tariff refunds in Q2 after the Supreme Court struck down Trump's IEEPA levies, and will automatically refund some customers.

And, in response, you said:
🐻 Nope, not interested — “They sell adequate sandwiches. Lots of places sell adequate sandwiches. Thus not much margin to bend, ‘efficiency of scale’ not withstanding.”
👀 No, but I’m interested — “Sandwiches are good. I’ll watch, but fast food stocks aren’t long term holds. Too dicey.”
