HAPPY FRIDAY TO THE STREET
1 in 5 Americans who sought financial advice last year asked a chatbot, per a new Gallup survey. But just 3% trust AI “a great deal” with their money.
In other words, the country’s new favorite financial advisor has no fiduciary duty, no track record, and no shame.
🟩 | US stocks rose today as investors shrugged off a shockingly bad jobs report in favor of keeping the chipmaker relief rally alive, sticking the landing on a banner week.
📈 | One Notable Gainer: Doximity (DOCS) surged more than 30% after its CEO said its new AI search tool earns 10x per search what it costs to run.
📉 | One Notable Decliner: Trade Desk (TTD) tanked some 20% after Q2 earnings and revenue missed estimates.

JOBS NUMBERS NEXT MONTH?
July payrolls fell by 23K. The Street expected a gain of 83K. The Employment Situation’s headline 12-month average has now been dragged down to 34K. Rough.
Now traders are handicapping next month’s number. The market currently sits at a coin flip on whether payrolls clear 50K. That would be the fiscal equivalent of a B-minus, but hey. At least it’s above average?
Market Movers
ATLASSIAN, AKAMAI, COHERENT
📈 | Atlassian (TEAM) soared after beating on Q4 revenue and earnings.
📉 | Akamai Technologies (AKAM) fell on light Q3 revenue guidance.
📈 | Coherent (COHR) popped again, bringing its weekly gains to nearly 50%, following a report of a coming US ban on Chinese data center components.
📉 | Under Armour (UA) slid after cutting full-year revenue guidance on softer demand.
📈 | Twilio (TWLO) surged on raised full-year revenue growth guidance.

JPMorgan analyst Bryan Smilek upgraded Etsy to Overweight, citing three straight quarters of year-over-year growth in marketplace gross merchandise sales for the DIY e-commerce platform.
Search And Rescue
Etsy cleared forecasts in Q2, while management raised its full-year GMS forecast to mid-single-digit growth.
Smilek credits Etsy’s push through search, its app, and loyalty programs for pulling in new buyers and keeping them around. That, he says, is strengthening the seller side too.
GMS growth has climbed from 0.1% in Q4 2025 to 7.5% in Q2, per JPMorgan. Smilek expects social commerce to keep it going through the back half of the year and all of next.
Against The Grain
Wall Street isn’t all-in. Of the 31 analysts covering Etsy, just 11 rate it a Buy or Strong Buy, while 19 sit at Hold.
However, shares are firmly in the green year to date. And JPMorgan thinks the marketplace has another custom order coming.
