HAPPY SATURDAY TO THE STREET

And welcome back to Street Tweets from The Street Sheet!

Every midterm cycle, your feed fills up with two kinds of people.

One camp is sure the market crashes if their side loses. The other is sure it rips if their side wins.

Both have charts. Few have context.

That’s why Kyle DePaolo and Dane May of DM Strategic Wealth are joining us live this Monday at 2:30 p.m. ET, the day before Election Day.

They’ll bring the history on how stocks have handled past midterms, game out the possible results, and talk through how to position without letting the headlines manage your money.

We capped it at 30 seats so it stays a conversation, not a muted slide deck. But they’re going fast.

So if you’re at all interested, now is the time to reserve your seat. Hope to see you then.

MARKET REVIEW & PREVIEW

Markets retreated again this week, with all three major indexes in the red. The Federal Reserve held rates steady, but a hot PCE print, up 0.5% in September, has traders bracing for a December hike. Alphabet (GOOGL) didn’t help, shedding 12 (or roughly $500B in market value, its sharpest post-earnings fall on record) after reporting soft search traffic and ad sales.

Next week, all eyes turn to Friday’s October jobs report. The economy added just 29K jobs in September, so a strong rebound would keep the Fed focused on inflation and a December hike firmly in play. Another weak print, though, would make the labor market the bigger worry heading into the Fed’s December meeting.

Cheaper AI, bigger appetite.

Anthropic recently cut what it charges per token, the unit AI usage is billed in.

Demand didn’t just hold up. On OpenRouter, daily Anthropic token usage more than tripled after its newest models launched.

Gavin Baker’s point: the same thing is playing out across AI. Token prices fall, usage jumps, and the GPUs that run it all cost more to rent.

Hello, world.

The legendary hedge fund manager made his first-ever X post to trumpet a partnership between trade[XYZ], a builder of Hyperliquid-based markets, and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the NYSE-owner, to bring perpetual futures to the US.

In other words, a Wall Street icon thinks the closing bell might soon look a lot like the Liberty Bell: cracked and unused.

Keeping the quiet part quiet.

Jamie Dimon’s father was an executive VP at American Express.

Turns out the secret to business success goes a little deeper than, “Talk less, smile more.”

“Nothing new since Jobs.”

That’s what Palantir (PLTR) co-founder Peter Thiel said after Apple (AAPL) announced its latest product last week: a touchscreen laptop.

That’s a product competitors have been making for a decade, and one Apple has disavowed for just as long.

“New” may be the currency of tech giants. But the currency of casinos? “Billions”.

A true long-term holder.

He’s not dead. Just waiting on the capex payback.
