INSAT-AI-BLE DEMAND

AMD’s Next Growth Chapter

Advanced Micro Devices $AMD ( ▲ 9.0% ) surged today after the chipmaker laid out an ambitious roadmap for its AI future.

Wells Fargo $WFC ( ▲ 0.08% ) thinks the surge is just getting started. The bank reiterated its Overweight rating and raised its price target to $345, which is about a 35% upside from current levels.

This came after CEO Lisa Su projected compound annual revenue growth of roughly 35% over the next three to five years, driven by soaring demand for AI chips.

From CPUs to AI Powerhouse

Su said AMD’s data center AI business could grow around 80% annually in that same period, reaching billions in sales by 2027. She also expects AMD to capture a double-digit share of the data center AI chip market within five years. By 2030, the company sees the total AI data center market swelling to $1 trillion in annual revenue, and AMD wants a meaningful slice of it.

Wells Fargo’s Aaron Rakers said the firm remains confident in AMD’s ability to expand across multiple fronts, from CPUs and GPUs to server and PC markets. He noted AMD’s accelerating operating leverage and potential earnings power of more than $10 per share by 2027, possibly doubling to $20 by the end of the decade.

Big Ambitions, Bigger Market

Risks remain, including fierce competition and execution pressure as investor expectations climb. But Wells Fargo said AMD’s refreshed financial framework signals a stronger long-term growth story.

If Su delivers on her forecast, AMD’s next act could cement it as the industry’s most dynamic challenger… and one of AI’s biggest winners.
