HAPPY SATURDAY TO THE STREET
And happy birthday to… us!
A year ago, we launched our first ever paid subscription tier, Street Sheet Research.
We built Research on a simple conviction: the market only looks complicated from the outside.
When I started my career inside a bulge bracket's private bank, I quickly found that Wall Street was far simpler than it appeared from the outside. The 1% edge was never genius, just access; access to insights from the smartest minds on the Street, and the same research that led to their top-performing ideas.
We've been blown away by the response. We thought we were building an inside-baseball value add for our most dedicated readers, not our new core product. But Research is now supported by hundreds of members. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far... and we’re only getting started.
Strategies is the logical next step. Our newest subscription tier is your chance to stop listening to the smartest minds on the Street, and start becoming one yourself. And, for our birthday weekend only, it’s your chance to get it at a fraction of its full value. More on that below.
For now, just want to say, whether you’re supporting us through our premium tiers or simply by reading our content, we truly appreciate it. The Street wouldn’t be the same without you.

MARKET REVIEW & PREVIEW
Stocks slipped in a holiday-shortened week as hot inflation data put a Fed rate hike firmly on the table. Friday's core CPI rose a hotter-than-expected 0.3% for August, while fresh escalation in the Iran war pushed oil higher. The Dow fell more than 1.5% on the week, the steepest drop of the three major indexes.
All eyes turn to the Fed on Wednesday. Policymakers wrap up their two-day meeting with a rate decision at 2 PM ET, and markets now overwhelmingly expect a hike. Traders will parse the Fed chair's press conference just as closely, after his hawkish Jackson Hole speech last month rattled stocks. Another tough tone could mean another dip.
Welcome to active management.
So AI can't beat the market either? Sounds like it just passed the fund-manager Turing test.
Unicorns, now 90% off.
Bending Spoons acquired Miro, the digital whiteboard platform once valued at $17.5B, for a measly $1.3B.
The firm is basically the TJ Maxx (TJX) of ZIRP-era unicorns.
