HAPPY TUESDAY TO THE STREET

Washington can't agree on much these days. But ahead of the midterms, most voters have at least one thing in common: they really don't like data centers.

From Texas to Michigan, candidates in both parties are scrambling to look tough on the AI buildout, with some now backing outright moratoriums.

The AI boom finally delivered bipartisanship. Just not the kind anyone pitched to investors.

  • 🟩 | US stocks rose today, led by the Nasdaq Composite, as Anthropic’s forthcoming IPO lifted chipmakers and the broader tech sector.

  • 📈 | One Notable Gainer: SoFi Technologies (SOFI) jumped around 15% after raising full-year revenue guidance.

  • 📉 | One Notable Decliner: Meta Platforms (META) dipped while Nvidia (NVDA) rose on news the chipmaker will invest $3B in Meta.

Analysts on ANT

Anthropic filed to go public on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. For analysts, the accompanying 300-page document was a Rorschach test.

Bulls see 1,300% annual sales growth, 900% net revenue retention and a valuation target reportedly up to $2T. Bears see an $80.7B first-half net loss, hundreds of billions in compute commitments, and 90+ pages of risk factors.

But there’s another stock that could benefit from the blockbuster IPO, and it’s a much easier read.

Lender of First Resort

DA Davidson's Gil Luria upgraded Broadcom to Buy, arguing shares price in near-zero odds that Anthropic and OpenAI both go public and raise the capital to keep Broadcom's targets on track.

Broadcom sits on both sides of the ledger. A bank-backed vehicle will finance $63B in Broadcom AI chips for Anthropic, and Broadcom itself may lend Anthropic up to $42B.

Luria expects the IPO to proceed, which should let Broadcom hit expectations for the next couple of years. Raymond James (RJF) goes further, projecting Anthropic becomes Broadcom's largest XPU customer in fiscal 2027.

Consensus Is Chipping In

Wall Street is already crowding the picks-and-shovels trade. Of the 51 analysts covering Broadcom, 48 rate it a Buy or Strong Buy.

Yet shares are still in the red year-to-date. Investors can keep arguing about ANT. But it’s looking like all green lights for AVGO.
